A President of NEW precedents.
Below lies my plans and mission as ASB President next year: "NEW"
N - Navigate Student Government to Productivity
Student Government is the main root towards the success of student activities on campus. Without leadership/ASB, there would be no clubs, rallies, nor BOTC+Homecoming.
My mission in the Leadership Class is simply not to dictate; but ultimately collaborate with leadership student’s opinions and create the next batch of brave, unique, and hardworking leaders in SCHS. HOW? 1) Plan and Execute Monthly ASB Executive Meetings. 2) Commence planning + execution stages of major student activities at least 2 months prior. 3) Create Resources/Templates for Leadership students, such as how to plan for an efficient class event, fundraiser, calendars/deadlines, etc. |
E - Effective Communication Amongst the Student Body + Faculty
I am proud to be a part of the 2018-2019 leadership class, as transparency and communication were major focuses when planning events. Throughout my term, I hope to increase communication and understanding of activities on campus.
HOW? 1) There are currently no calendar of when fundraisers/student activities are. I hope to work with the ASB VP, Secretary, and Treasurer to create an online calendar, so that students and faculty know when that T-Pump Fundraiser will be, or What times PRE-OTC is, or know what to wear on what Spirit Day way ahead of time in a centralized spreadsheet calendar. 2) Create an organize and email system that works with not only student club leaders, but faculty advisors of clubs. |
W - Willing to Analyze Feedback to ImproveOne essential value a true leader should encompass is the ability to reflect in order to improve. Failing is inevitable, but it is in our ability to avoid regurgitation of mistakes from the past.
HOW? 1) Continue Town Hall Meetings, and incentivize/recognize + have a collaborative experience with those who attend 2) Create an online suggestion/feedback form in addition to the suggestion box available in the leadership class. 3) Learn from Feedback from past years before commencing the planning stages of student events. |
